A News Years’ Health Resolution you won’t fail.

This time of year, the little window between Christmas and New Year is filled with obscene gluttony and unnecessary self-abuse. I wonder when it began and why, with all our knowledge, it is still normal to do so?

HOW LONG DOES YOUR NEW YEARS’ HEALTHY RESOLUTION LAST?

Along with the guilt of such poor habits, comes the growling snowball of New Years Resolutions, building bigger and screaming louder as each day passes. By New Years eve, many will go for the last hurrah and pickle their livers a little more, to wish in the new year. There is an old adage that says you are going to live the new year as you ended the last. So, if you are self abusive under the guise of celebrating your life, guess what that means?

I suggest starting the resolution the day AFTER Christmas – not perpetuating your body’s suffering. Surveys put weight loss, getting fit and eating healthier at the top 3 positions. And the stats show that 90% of resolutions made fail. Yet we keep doing it the same every year! Why?

KICK OFF THE NEW YEAR WITH A GENTLE DETOX

Regardless of where your health is at, I advise the same diet with slight modifications based on age, geography and individual needs. But unless you are actually dedicated to a 100% adherence, I suggest a gentle detox first. So, before you begin the new Alkaline diet (see my posts on this blog) how about a combo of the myriad natural detox methods out there? These multiple steps are easy to follow, while gently easing into your new, healthy life.

SKIN HEALTH

Our skin and liver are as linked as our brain and lungs – therefore, we must take care of it. While the average person is covering up from the very air and sunlight we need – to insane levels, we need to remember that our skin MUST breathe. Many have damaged DNA and spend their lives covering up so no one can see. Gentle dry body brushing, (order here) washing in pure water and non toxic products (includes hair care and dental care), wearing natural fibre clothing and even massage will flush the capillaries and lymphatics.

Doing the opposite, using toxic skin care, allowing your skin levels to build up and die off rapidly, will result in all the waste and toxins being carried back to the liver for processing. We then have a vicious circle. Anyone who has used steroidal creams on their skin will be able to testify to the liver cycle over long periods. Safe for children.

DETOX FOOT PATCHES

Utilising bamboo (EDTA), Asian herbs and FAR technology, you will not believe what is on the patch within just hours. Use by applying to centre soles of the feet overnight, put on socks to encourage heating and keep in place. Capable of drawing out all manner of pathogens, heavy metals and other toxins, the resulting molasses-like mass you will see when removed (not to mention the odour) is a good sign of just what has been going on in the body. Plants were the first medicines from Creation so it stands to reason that as most of us have distanced ourselves so far from natural purity, our bodies will suffer. There are many teas that clean the blood and liver –

  • lemon water
  • psyllium soaked in water
  • turmeric
  • fenugreek
  • ginger
  • tulsi (sacred basil)
  • chamomile
  • aloe vera
  • nettle
  • lemongrass

By no means is this list exclusive – there is literally no end to simple, beneficial teas you can make at home to begin and maintain your health – and can all be consumed daily – the change in urine colour will show just how effective they are. Safe for children.

My favourite way to detox is also the most gentle –

  • hydrastis
  • nux vomica
  • carbo veg
  • all in a 30c dosage are among my favourites. Safe for children.

JUICE

Raw vegetable juice is a simple addition to any liver detox

  • ginger
  • celery
  • carrot
  • beetroot
  • spinach
  • kale
  • cabbage
  • silverbeet
  • parsley
  • cilantro (heavy metal detox)
  • cucumber
  • is one of my favourite blends. Even though the pulp is removed, the remaining liquid is like a vitamin shot with living enzymes to flush waste. Safe for children.

CASTOR OIL POULTICE

Pour a few tablespoons of castor oil onto a cloth the size of a regular washcloth/flannel. Ensure it is well soaked, then place over the area immediately below your right ribs. Wrap your entire mid section with plastic wrap or brown paper and a towel.

Rest – this can be done before bed but make sure you put a towel over your sheets. Allow to soak for at least 3 hours. This releases impacted waste stores and toxins from your liver and releases them for excretion. Make sure, like with all these steps, that you drink a lot more water than usual. CHARCOAL

One of the safest and gentlest detox treatments – used in hospitals as standard detox treatment until the 1970s until ‘medicine’ no longer believed our bodies needed to be pure. Charcoal detox is one of the oldest herbal treatments on earth – capable of neutralising acids and many poisons (including vaccine adjuvants) with the only side effects being release of gas and resulting fæces turning black thanks to the obvious colour. EPSOM SALTS BATHS

Available from most supermarkets and health shops. Simply one of the most effective non invasive measures you can do for vital health. If you do not have a large tub, then put 1 cup of ES into a hot footbath – a bucket or foot spa will do. As hot as you can bare. Keep soaking until the water gets cool. If you have a bathtub, pour 1 to 2 cups of ES into hot water – as hot as you can bare as it must open capillaries.

I prefer to lay down with my entire scalp immersed as our scalps release a lot of toxins. Relax until water goes cool. Warning – this will make you drowsy as the combination of endorphins and toxins released in your blood stream have their effect. Twice a week is enough, but if you are overly unwell, this can be repeated every day before bed. Safe for children – (not too hot).

FLUSHING ACIDS

What your doctor doesn’t know, and experts wont tell you, is that ALL illness and inflammation is linked to acid levels in the body – i.e. acidosis – and most people eat a highly acidic diet. If you test your urine, it should be an optimum 7.4pH – anything less means your body is being washed with acids – so acidic in fact that if you swam in a pool with this pH your skin would burn. Your blood must constantly rob alkaline salts from the organs, bones and surrounding tissue to keep us alive as even the smallest drop in pH results in death.

These acid salts and calcium build up from poor diet and the ridiculous habit of calcium supplementation leaves us with stones, spurs and various calcifications throughout the body. 1 teaspoon of bicarb (non aluminium baking soda) in water morning and night will cause your body to rapidly flush acids and toxins from your kidneys and liver like nothing else. Most focus is on what we put into our bodies – but what about all the toxic chemicals we put ONTO our bodies and into our lungs? The average house is many hundreds time more toxic than the outdoors – more here
